Carmen was rescued from a high kill shelter 7/11/2006
along with her mom and 10 other litter mates. Animal
Control was called when a motorist told of a dog running
and barking at passing cars along a busy road. When
they arrived they found the dog trying to protect her 11
puppies in the ditch where all were dumped. All, including
the mom (aka Chelsey) were rescued together on what
would have been their last day.

She is doing great. She is still adjusting of course to being around
Lola and I, but she is happy. She gets into her kennel without a fight and
is a little shy around Lola and on our walks sometimes, but I think in some
more time she will be fine. She has perked up a lot since the weekend and
is started to act like a puppy (chewing and playing with toys) so I think
that means she is happy, I know we are that she is here. Thank you so
much- Abby and Lola and Carmen

Hey ladies-
CoCo (AKA Carmen) is doing great! She is such a puppy and she has
really come out of her shell. She is getting less timid around people
everyday! She loves to play with Lola and try to play with the cat-but the cat is
not ever really in the playing mood. haha She is pretty much housebroken
and has chewed up a few pairs of shoes, but I know she will grow out of it.
The only difficulty we are having is the car riding issues. The last time
she rode in it she managed not to throw up, but she still salavates a lot
and will most likely throw up again. My friends have given me some ideas
as to how to break her of her fear, so we will work on that and hopefully
everything will work out. Because of the car sickness thing though she
we have not gotten to the vet to have her stiches taken out. hopefully it
will be able to happen soon though. Thanks for checking in.
