Because of our commitment to the pet community  we have added a new service.  We receive many calls
everyday from people needing help in finding a new home for their pet.
The number of homeless pets way exceeds the available spaces in shelters and animal control facilities.   Turning
pets away from assistance has always been the hardest part of what we do, so we came up with this service as a
way to help even when we are over capacity.
Please know that Hope Rescues is not responsible for any pets on this page.  We cannot guarantee their
health, current shots, spay/neuter,  microchip, nor any other aspect of the pet.
These are courtesy postings and Hope Rescues receives no portion of the adoption fees whatsoever.
We are not aware of any other Rescue or Shelter who offer this service in our area and we do this from our
hearts, not our pockets.
Thank you.

"Sugar" Jax is a very happy and friendly dog.  He loves to be around
people, loves to be pet on his belly and smiles a lot.  As of late, his
favorite thing to do is play in the sprinkler, where he jumps and bites
at the water and sprays water in his face.  (The pictures were taken
after he was soaked by the sprinkler)

He is black with white on his chest, belly, paws and snout.  Around
a year old and soon to be neutered.  I found him on a busy street
where he barely escaped the wheels of a bus.  He was running from
person to person, it looked as if someone had dropped him off and
he was searching for his mommy.  He is a true lover and enjoys
being a lap dog.  He understands sit, down, shake and no;  I'm
currently obedience training him to my best ability.

As much as I would love to keep this dog, he isn't a good fit for me.
He would be much happier in a home with another dog, more
people and big fenced in yard.
Hank
I was found wondering on the Interstate in the cold and snowy
weather this past winter. Some lady came by and picked me
up. Since then, I have been staying with a nice family with
children and two dogs (I get along with other dogs.) But now I
need to find my own home. I have been to the vet and have
gotten my shots and a check-up. They tell me I am probably
one and a half years old and a pit bull mix. I am very sweet
and playful. I love to give kisses. Plus, I am housetrained,
neutered and micro-chipped. Please help me find a forever
home.

Charlie Brown
Hi! Thanks for looking at me! My name is Charlie Brown. My
foster mom named me that because I’m brown, duh, but also
because I have a freakishly big head like the original Charlie
Brown. My foster mom is so silly!

Anyway, I’m searching for my forever family. My foster mom (fm
for short) pulled me out of an animal control facility. She said she
saw something special in me, and boy have I proved her right! I’m
around 75lbs., between 2-3 yrs. old, and fm thinks I might be a Pit
bull/American Bulldog mix. She’s not sure, though. It doesn’t really
matter what breed I am, because I am WONDERFUL regardless!

At fm’s house, I live with a boy pit bull, a girl pit bull, foster mom,
foster dad, and a 4 ½  yr. old little human boy, and I love all of
them! I love other dogs, and I am very submissive with humans and
other dogs alike. Every once in a while, the boy pit bull I live with
will growl at me cause he wants to be the boss. Even though I
outweigh him by like, 30 lbs., I just walk away like a good boy
cause I don’t care about being the boss. Status is just not important
to me. Want to know what is important to me? Kisses, cuddles,
hugs, treats, kisses, belly rubs and kisses. Did I mention I like
kisses? I will cover you with kisses if you let me, and even if you
don’t let me, I will insist! If you don’t like puppy kisses, I might not
be the one for you.

I have been carefully evaluated by a professional trainer, and I
passed with flying colors! There is not a mean bone in my body. I
don’t care if you take my toys from me, don’t care if you mess with
my food, and if you yell at me or raise your hand, I will hit the floor.
See, told you I was very submissive. I am such a good boy!

Even though I weigh 75lbs., I don’t feel like a “big dog” to the
humans cause I’m not very tall. I am short and wide, and I am
VERY strong. Fm walks me on a prong collar, and I do just fine. I
seem to be pretty conscious of my strength most of the time, and I
listen and take correction very well. However, if I get really excited,
I need to be reminded how strong I am. I am learning not to jump up when visitors stop by, and it’s going well. I
will also potty outside if I’m let out regularly! I sleep in my crate at night, and I do not mess in it (yay for me!).
Another few things that are great about me…..I don’t chew (I’m so over all that puppy stuff), I don’t bother you
when you eat, my coat is soooo soft, I am beautiful, I am loving, and I don’t bark, ever. The only time my fm
has heard me bark is when she tested me with kitty cats. I seemed a little too interested for her liking, so a home
with no kitties would be best for me (and the prospective kitty!).
Because I’m so special, and my foster family loves me so much, they’re going to be really picky about who gets
me. To adopt me you must:
*complete an adoption application
*own a home (no renters please)
*have vet references

*allow my foster mom to visit your home initially
*live in an area with no breed specific legislations (BSL’s). If you don’t know what this is or if where you live
has them, my fm will help you figure it out.
*Be settled (if you’re planning on moving soon, it has to be somewhere that I can come, too. If you’re planning
on having a baby, and for some reason you don’t think it’s lawful to have a baby and a dog, please don’t apply).
*Promise to love me forever and keep me safe. I don’t want to end up back in animal control. Yuck!
*$150 adoption fee which includes: all shots, neuter, microchip, heartworm preventative, my special training
collar and leash, and a bag of my food to get you started.

If you’re looking for a sweet, loving, snuggly, beautiful, big dorky lug of a guy, e-mail my foster mom at
lguadagano3@hotmail.com and she will e-mail you an adoption application. I can’t wait to meet you! I’m so
excited to find my forever family!

Thanks for considering me,

Charlie Brown (woof woof)

Charlie Wilson
This handsome little man is our shih tzu friend, Charlie Wilson. He is
really quite a dandy!  Though he was kept as an outside dog for
most of his 2 1/2 years, potty training is going extraordinarily well.
In fact, he earned free run of the house at night very quickly.  He is
honestly one of the sweetest, most gentle little dogs I've ever met.
He is a special needs fella, however.   He has Degenerative Disc
Disease.  We know that this means we'll need to look  a little harder
to find just the right family..one that doesn't mind he's kind of
wobbly, and that he'll require some special considerations...but he's
worth the extra effort.  As far as Charlie Wilson's concerned, there's
not a thing in this world wrong with him, and he keeps his willingness
for fun at the ready.  He can (and should) take daily walks (for
muscle tone), but no stairs, no rough play, no jumping off furniture,
and a home without small children would be best.  He'd also do best
in a home with more carpet than not, as he has better traction on
carpet.  The symptoms he shows now, the loose gait and wonky
coordination, are the result of a long healed lesion.
The possibility for another injury further down the spine will always exist, but with proper management isn't a
given.  He doesn't appear to have any pain associated with the disc disease...and the vet poked and prodded
around pretty good trying to get a reaction.  The vet said everything else checked out just great:   eyes, ears,
teeth, joints...all check.  His disposition just continues to shine, and he's an absolute joy to have around.  He really
likes to be with you, wherever you are, and is ready to play at a moments notice.  He must have been terribly
lonely living outside all alone.  I cannot express to you how sweet, playful, silly, playful, loving, playful and gentle
this boy is.  He's truly goodness and light, and  is just an all 'round blast to have around.  In a word, he's a delight.
If you'd like to find out more about our special fella, you can email his foster Mom at btrcup@madisontelco.com .
The pictures that I have enclosed, the first two are
honey, I named her honey because that is what she
came too when we first met. The last two are a female
pup that looks just like her brother which i am finding a
home for. I have two dogs that I can not keep because
I have 4 of my own. Over the summer, my husband and
I found this dog wondering around on Rt 3. We
stopped and she got right in the car. The poor thing was
so pregnant that her belly was bigger than her. Her
collar was on so tight it was starting to cut in to her
neck, she was just filthy, and looked malnourished.  So
we brought her home cleaned her up and have taken
care of her since. She had a litter of 9 pups and i have
found homes for 8 of them. So all that is left is her and
her baby. It is critical that I find homes for these two
loving dogs. Both get along with other dogs and cats. I
am thankful for your help. God bless.
You can reach me on my home phone if needed.

I am moving and cannot take my friend with me.  He was a
stray who adopted me 2 years ago as a kitten.  He is very
affectionate and a great companion, but loves his outdoor
time as well.  He is beautiful and healthy.  He gets along with
other cats as well as dogs.
We think they are around 10 months old.

Junebug has the white stripe down her nose and Wheezy is the
one with white around her mouth.

Junebug is the ultimate lap kitty.  She is very affectionate and
gentle while still possessing that playful kitten side.  She is not
afraid of water and enjoys playing with a running faucet.  She
gets along with other cats but I am not sure about dogs.  Junebug
would love to be adopted with her sister Wheezy, but if getting a
wonderful and loving home means being separated, she
understands.

Wheezy is sweet girl who just loves to play.  She gets along with
other cats but I am not sure about dogs.  She likes to play with
water, and little mice but feather toys are her favorite.  She can
be a lap kitty but she much prefers to be hoisted up on your
shoulder and carried around.  Wheezy would love to be adopted
with her sister Junebug, but if getting a wonderful and loving
home means being separated, she will understand.

Tony
I found Tony in June of 2007 and the vet determined
that he was probably born in January of 2007.  Tony
has epilepsy and takes medication for it.  His
medication is not expensive and he has to go to a vet
once a year for blood work to check is liver because
the medication will effect it.  But this condition does not
keep Tony down.  He is a very energetic dog and loves
to play with you.  Tony is also very lovable, after when
he gets his energy out he just wants to sit with you and
cuddle.  Now if you don't want him to sleep with you
or get on the furniture then you will have to train him
not to because I let him sleep with me and sit on the
furniture.  He is a little bit of a nipper and he kind of
gets a little carried away when he is licking you and
might try to nip you.  All and all though Tony is a great
dog and I just want him to have a good home because
he is a special dog.

Lance
Lance is a male dog, about 4 years old, rescued from a dog pound. He is
neutered, weighs about 70-75 lbs and is presently up-to-date on his shots.
He is good natured, generally dog-friendly and gets along well with my two
girls, but my male dog is very jealous of him and the two cannot be together
at all. I would like for him to have a home where he would receive more
individual attention.  He is crate trained, house broken and does reasonably
well on a lead.  He is also very affectionate and loves attention.  He appears
to possibly be a wirehaired pointer mix and/or airedale terrior mix.  He
tends to want to chase cats and would probably do better in a home
without cats.

If you need any further information, please let me know.

My name is Red
I’m a pretty special kitty looking for my forever home.  I am
neutered, fully declawed and affectionate.  I purr real loud to let you
know how happy I am to see you.
I’m about 4 years old and fully vetted.  I had a home, but my owners
had a new baby and didn’t have much use for me after that.  I didn’t
do anything wrong, it’s just that circumstances changed.
I entertain myself by looking out the windows and chirp when I see
rabbits, squirrels and birds.  I have a favorite rug that I sleep on and I
adore a treat of shrimp.
I really prefer that I have the house to myself as I view other cats as an annoyance that I would much rather do
without.  But if the other cat lets me do my thing, then it’s OK with me.  But I do get lonely without my people
around me.
Another thing that I like to do is be in the bathroom with you when you shower – you need my protection from
the indoor “rain”.  I’ll talk to you when you come out of the shower to tell you that you got all wet in there!  Silly
humans.
I do talk a lot when I want you to pay attention to me.  I give head butts and wrap myself around your legs to let
you know how much I care about you.
My playthings are runaway balls that fly in the air and scoot under furniture.  Basking in the sun rays is always on
my “to do” list.
I have little black dots on my pink nose that look like magic marker – but it’s all natural beauty marks.  I have
golden eyes and orange stripes.
Since I have no claws, I need to be an indoor kitty.  But get this…..I have been leashed trained and so I can go
on walks with you, or I can be put on a very long leash in the backyard, where I can lie in the grass and keep an
eye on the moving creatures in our territory.
Ok, ok….I have to fess up – I can get cranky at times.  But that’s if someone doesn’t understand that I’ve had
enough of kids pulling my tail or some other undignified gesture.  But mainly, I’ll just go into another room if you
annoy me in that way.  That’s fair, isn’t it?  I long to have my own home again….would you please consider
me?  I’ll make it worth your while.  Call 314-401-0895 and talk to Shirl or Den
Hi!  My name is Maggie...Maggie May.  I somehow got lost from
my people.  I've been staying with a family for about a month now while
they tried to help me find my way back to them.  Apparently they weren't
looking very hard for me as nothing came of their efforts.  So, it appears
I'm looking for some new people now.
A little about me:  I'm a sweet little gal who adores kids.  I like to play
ball, go for walks, ride in the car, swim, and be on the receiving end of
belly rubs.  I listen really well as it's very important to me to please people.
I've been told I'm "smart as a whip" and caught onto training and routines
really quick. I know a few basic commands...sit, down, and wait.  I'm
eager to learn new ones all the time.  I think I'd really get a kick out of
something like agility or flyball.  I'm quite an athlete!  I'm potty
trained--have never had even a SINGLE accident in the house-- and I've
never chewed on anything I'm not supposed.  My house manners are, as
I've heard them called, "impeccable".  I only get on the furniture when
invited, and I sleep on a dog bed at night.  My foster Mom says she's
never had an easier foster dog in all her life.  I don't spend any time in a
crate because I've not had to.  Foster Mom
trusts me to be loose in the house even when no one is home for several
hours.  I don't bark much at all.  I'm keeping my girlish figure at an even
40 lbs, and I'm just under knee high.  A fenced yard would likely be best
as chasing squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits is serious business for me!  I'm
a great moler, and would promise to keep my yard mole-free!  I get on
well with most other dogs after an initial introduction.  My foster brother
and I spend a lot of time wrestling.  I'm prettier in person than I am in my
photo.  I'm just not real sure about that camera pointing at my face,
flashing and making weird noises.  Though I look leery in my picture, I've
actually got sweet, soulful eyes.  Give me a chance to gaze up at you with
them while I rest my head on your lap, won't you?
You can reach my foster Mom by emailing her at
