We are all adjusting to the changes in our routines.  They have both #2 in the
yard, as well as #1; no #2 in the house. Someone is #1 in the house, and it’s
not me.  Boyfriend likes to mark table and chair legs, so I try to watch him and
make a loud noise if he’s sniffing and starts to “position” himself.  I’ve let them
explore the whole house with me in tow, but basically they are kept on the first
floor because the upstairs has too many “hiding” places.  He likes to #1 on big
indoor plant pots and the outside containers, I guess my prior male marked
then and he’s doing his own marking.  I have learned that sleeping until 8am is
too late for a dry floor, but 6am seems okay.  Once they are used to the
indoor/outdoor theme, the pet door is in our future.  They are both so sweet
and affectionate, and you were right, she follows his lead.  You were also right
that their “names” seem to have no meaning for them, so I’ll change the names
to reflect their southern heritage.  I think I’ll call him “Beau”/Beauregard and her
“Madge”.

It’s good to have dogs again.  She rode home in a “reclining” position, chewing
on a rawhide.  He sat up and watched the scenery, which is probably typical for
their respective personalities.  Thanks for helping them find their ways to me.
