Maggie was rescued when we received a call from our vet
telling us that they had a pet who had been hit by a car and had
suffered by a major break to her back leg. Her current owner
could not afford the surgery and wanted to release the pet to our
care so she could get the treatment she needed. Maggie was
taken a speciality hospital where she underwent the surgery to
have a plate inserted in her back leg. She healed wonderfully
and now lives in Wisconsin with her new family where she is
having the greatest time...

Just wanted to let you know we are so glad we decided to pick Maggie up on Saturday
so we could spend Sunday and Monday getting acquainted. She is doing great! The
other dogs and cats have been introduced with no hisses or snaps. She slept in the car
on the way home, spent the night in heather's room and Sunday we started with one dog
then the other and no big deal. Cat's were the same. She also went with us Sunday night
to visit some friends and Monday afternoon. She was also great. sits on my lap will go up
and smell people, and also warming up to them coming up and petting her. one accident
in the house the first night when she was sniffing around and that was it. it is abit different
with the female dog she doesn't go as often as the boys who have to lift their leg on
everything. My pack goes into the vet Tues. and i will schedule her spay probably next
week. I have your shirt, it will get a good washing then i will send it out. She has her own
new bed and slept with it last night but i think it is OK to remove the shirt. I think I am her
new mama. She now comes to me and jumps on me. She spent the morning alone with
my son and has now warmed up to him abit more. She is a one on one kinda dog that
needs to meet her family slowly.
Anyway, I am sure I will keep you updated. Thanks again, I / we love her!
