Sassy Sue was rescued from an Animal Control facility on what
would have been her last day of life.  Now she lives in a home
where she feels safe and loved.

Hi Jackie and Kim-
I thought I would give you an update on Susie's (Sassy Sue) progress. She is getting used
to the house and the sounds of the neighborhood. The German Shepard next door scared
her at first, but now they run along the fence line together. She has claimed my older son's
room as hers and is trying to figure out how to climb the ladder up to his loft bed. She loves
to curl up next to me in bed and gives me and the boys lots of love, which we give back to
her. She is starting to play fetch and has become quite playful.
She is still very shy and timid around my husband. He is being patient, but it is very difficult.
He has never had a dog react like this to him. I am taking her on walks around the
neighborhood trying to get her comfortable around other people and other dogs. She does
fine with the dogs and most of the kids. She is still leary of adults. She is so cute that she
always attracts a crowd and that makes her more nervous.  People understand and try not
to spook her. Do you have any suggestions, especially for my husband?
I have attached a couple of pictures we took of her in our yard. She doesn't like our kitchen
floor, so when she eats, she stands in the dining room and reaches for her food. Hope you
enjoy!
Chris
