I just had to let you know what a truly WONDERFUL dog Skylar is!  She took
immediately to my daughter, Bindi, and gave her great big kisses.  She also got
along great with my two dogs, including my alpha Malamute.  I took all three dogs
for a 5 mile walk as soon as we got home!  Skylar heeled up beside them, never
pulled, and in fact was walked by my four year old for a mile!  She already knows
sit and front commands and is so very sweet.  She just loves to give kisses.  My
daughter gave her the middle name of Hope!  She said she named her that
because Skylar gives us hope!  How profound for a four-year-old!  Thank you so
much for saving her life so she could enrich ours!

Skylar is so sweet!  She loves to play with Bindi in
the pool!  She sticks her head all the way under
water!
Hello Again!

Bindi and I really enjoy your newsletter.  She likes to see all the dogs who also found their forever
homes!  She loves showing off her dogs!  We had to take all three to school for "D" week.  Bindi and I
showed the kids how to give them simple commands and how they walk together!  She told her class
that everyone should have a dog!  We can't wait until we get a good snow and try Skylar out with the
sled!  I think she might actually be a malamute as opposed to a husky.  The vet thinks so too with her
feet, face shape, and ear position, plus that smiling little face.  Their is nothing like a malamute smile!
We just love her!

My Malamute, Kemba, has made a complete recovery from her cancer.  I think Skylar had something to
do with that too!  Kemba seemed the think that she had to get better quick so she could make sure she
was still top dog!  I think it helps too that Skylar is such a happy go lucky dog!  Tasha and Skylar play
together all the time!  You would think that Tasha was a puppy too!  They play every night outside
against the house.  They actually rattle the back windows when they play!

I wanted to also share a story about the wonder of good dogs.  We were walking last week and were
almost home.  In Hannibal we do have a problem with irresponsible pit owners.  Drug runners keep
them and give them meth to increase their aggression.  This is the case in a home close to ours.  We
were walking on the sidewalk with my three girls on their perfect heel position and my daughter in her
stroller.  Suddenly a door to a house beside us opened and out ran two pit-bulls.  They immediately
attacked!  We were only about 10 feet from the door, so it all happened so fast!  I flipped the stroller
over on Bindi like we have practiced.  However, I found that I really didn't need to do so!  My three girls
immediately surrounded the dogs and amazingly it was Tasha and Skylar who alpha dogged them and
held them down!  The owner finally came out and pulled them back into the house without so much as
an apology.  I was shaken and Bindi was terrified, but no one was hurt.  I didn't even find a scratch on
any of the girls.  Bindi is still not scared of dogs thanks to our great pack!

Thought you might enjoy a couple new pictures too!  Have a great day!  We really appreciate all you do
for animals everywhere!         Jennifer and Bindi

Skylar is a star!
The girls wait impatiently for their
treat!  Tasha is afraid of the camera
so it is hard to get her picture.
Skylar tried to reposition closer to
the treats just as I took the picture!
Still a handsome pack of sisters!

Hello again!

Boy did we get a lot of snow!  Skylar loves it!  We tried her out pulling the sled today.  She did very
well, she just couldn't decide which way to go!  I forgot my camera while we were out with the sled, but
caught a couple of pictures in the back yard!  She and Tasha love to wrestle around and play!
They've had a great day! Kemba isn't in the picture as they girls manages to kill a suicidal rabbit in the
back yard!  It amazes me how animals get into our yard and seem so surprised to find dogs!  Kemba
was guarding her treasure!  The girls just love this snowy weather! Bindi had a great time too!

With these dogs you have to run a tight ship or there is a mutiny!  They are great dogs, high energy
and too smart, but wonderful dogs!  Skylar is already doing a great job with obedience, actually better
than my other two!  I think she learns a lot through example, but she is just plain smart.  Everyone we
meet is just amazed they are rescue dogs.  Bindi loves to hear their adoption stories over and over.
She tells people she is rescued too!  Of course she isn't, but it is funny to hear her say it!  I tease that I
am half snow dog.  They seem like we are kindred soul.  I know there will be snow dogs in my part of
heaven!

We were lucky here and did not lose electricity.  We did spend the day digging out in between sled
rides!  I tried to keep the pulls short with Kemba still healing and skylar new at the sport.  Both
seemed to be fine though!  We helped dig a few cars out that we passed on or walks.  We were
definitely fairing better than the cars!

Bindi has definitely grown . . . I think she is part weed!  Last week I had to replace all her shoes!  One
day they fit and the next they are too tight!  Of course she had to have dress shoes, cowboy boots,
and tennis shoes!  I am always amazed at how well Skylar listens to Bindi.  She is very attentive
considering they are almost the same size!

Type more at you later, take care!
Jennifer and the girls!

Hope you have a great weekend!

I just had to send you this picture Bindi took of Skylar!  It is just too funny.  It reminds me of those big headed
dogs the kids love!
Enjoy,
Jennifer and the girls!
