My mom said you wanted to hear how I am doing...I've had a big day already and it's only 9
o'clock!
I ate my first bowl of dog food since I got here...they finally figured out I wouldn't touch that
dry stuff without a little canned mixed in...then I gobbled it right up. Then my mom and I went
outside and played in the backyard and I was feeling so good I just raced around like
crazy...up until now, I've been pretty shy. Then, another milestone...my first poop in my own
backyard...mom and dad seemed so excited...go figure. Then we went for a walk in the
park that's just half a block from our house and just jam-packed with squirrels - woo hoo!
Do I love chasing squirrels...dad's pretty excited about that because he says next year
maybe he'll actually get to eat some of the tomatoes he grows...when we came home I had
a big drink and settled in for my early mid-morning nap...I decided to try someplace new -
the footstool. So far, the couch has pretty much been home base. After a few minutes I
decided mom's chair looked better...just my size. Let's just say that mom and dad are
providing for me in a manner to which I plan to become accustomed!
Chat soon,
Penelope (fka Weazie)

So many squirrels, so little time!
I have been a busy little dog the last two weeks and having a great time in the process...I
love to chase squirrels in the park and in my backyard. I have a new best buddy, my cousin
Joe Jackson. Despite the fact that he is an 85-pound Rottweiler, and I weigh in at a petite
30 pounds, we get along great. As a matter of fact, I can run circles around the big galoot
and he even shares his toys with me.
I have lots of new toys and can never make up my mind which one to play with. I love
playing outside in my backyard and will even play outside for a while without my mom. I'm
really getting to like the guy who lives at our house, too. He's very nice to me and even lets
me give him kisses and sleep on his pillow. My mom bought me this nice bed, but hers
looks so much more comfortable, I prefer to sleep there, snuggled right in between my
mom and that guy.
I did have to go to this place when I first got here where there were other dogs and even a
couple of cats and people were wearing white coats. Oh, the indignities I suffered! They
poked and prodded me, but then I got to go home and mom said I wouldn't have to go
back for a long time.
Well, I've gotta run. Lots of important dog business to get back to...chow for now.

Kim and Jackie - I have been meaning to write and send pictures. Penelope couldn't be more
delightful. We just got back from visiting my sister in Boulder and she had a fabulous time in the
snow and playing with friends. I couldn't believe how much she loved the snow.
She had a good Christmas. She got a pearl necklace and a new coat.
In general, she is doing just great. She is the best dog! We love her dearly. She's set to go to the
vet next month to get updated on her shots. Other than that, nothing too exciting. I will update her
blog and send along some pictures if my sister ever sends them...
Thanks for checking up.
Hope you enjoyed the holidays,
Stacy
