Mindy and Weston were rescued along with their Mommy "Wendy" and their 5 other littermates from Animal Control on what would have been their last day of life. The puppies were ill when we rescued them and two of the puppies were lost to Parvo. But Weston and Mindy were able to survive and now have a wonderful "Forever Home" together.

They are fabulous! We changed Mindy's name to Molly but left Weston the way it is. They
are getting a bit taller and know how to bark now! They love to run and explore so we have
to keep a close eye on them. I didn't know it was possible, but they can crawl under the
couch and get up inside the recliner ends. They cannot do steps yet, at least in the house.
They get up the porch steps and can almost jump on the couch but still need a little help.
They are not potty trained yet, and we are trying to get them to go outside. In the morning,
they are good, but during the day they forget. My grandbaby is so cute with them. If they are
active she stays clear, but when they are laying down she will lay beside them or she will
squat down and give them kisses. They play together so well. I am very glad we got two.
They sleep together too. No matter where the one is sleeping, the other one will find it. This
morning Molly was in the babies room...my two smallest kids...and kept a steady bark until
Weston found her. It was so cute...Weston cocked his head and listened an looked around
until he found her. Then she stopped barking. They really are very enjoyable. I did want to
ask you again what food you were giving them. They seem to have a tougher time chewing
some stuff. They do eat and drink so they are fine, I just wondered what you had such
success with. Thanks a lot! Julie

Hey there ya'll,
I just wanted to let you know how the puppies have been doing. Surprisingly, Molly weighs
more than Wes...Weston is a bit taller, so he looks bigger, but she weighs 9lbs 10 oz and
he weighs 9 lbs 2 oz. Their shots are scheduled for next week, and we have them on
heart guard and frontline flea protection. They are so much fun. We bought them a big
kennel so they sleep together still at night. Even during the day they hide from the kids in
their kennel. Molly is definitely still the leader. Whatever she does, Weston does. Putting
warm water on their food helps a lot, they eat better that way. They love getting little treats
for going outside and sitting, little things like that. Now, every time someone opens the
cupboard door, they sit and wait for a treat. They are still funny and a lot of fun. They sleep
until 6:30-7 am and then whine to go outside. They are a real treat and such a good
addition to our family.
Anyway, I just wanted to update you on the puppies...Have a great weekend...Julie

Dill was a member of the "Rugrat" litter. He, along with his 6 other
littermates were raised by a good Samaritan who found their
pregnant mommy as a stray and took care of her while she had
puppies.
This wonderful family, who had adopted two of our pets months
before came back to adopt Dill. Now these three share a "Loving
Forever Home" together.

So far he is doing fine...the kids could not remember Dill and said he looked like
Chewbacca from Star Wars so they are calling him chewy. He is so sweet....at the
moment he and Weston are snuggling on the floor sleeping. He is so funny when he lays
down because he lays flat on his belly...like he is looking for a cool spot.

I hope my updates are not too often...so many times something happens and I think you
would just have loved to see it.
Molly and Weston have had their rabies shots and everything that goes with it. Molly weighs
16 pounds and Wes weighs 15 pounds and 6 oz. Chewy is not the brightest bulb in the box.
He is so funny...but usually because he does something "un-bright"! He tries so hard to
keep up with the other two. The other morning he was just sitting on the floor and I guess he
had an itch. He turned his head around to try and nip his itch and he fell over the other way. It
was quite funny. Yesterday my son put a pond in our front yard..Chewy tried to get a drink
and fell in! He swam to the other side and got out...but everyone was rolling with laughter.
Well, I hope you enjoy your vacation...I know you will miss your animals. We were suposed to
go on vacation this year to see my mom in Pa, but they said we couldn't bring our puppies
so we are not going. We were kind of on the fence anyway, because it is a long drive with all
the kids, and my parents are too old to handle all of the noise that our kids bring with them. It
ends up being not a vacation. Have a great time!
Julie
P.S. Next time you have a puppy that looks like these guys, I think the name "pudge" would
be good. I have a hard time remembering Chewy and Pudge seems so natural for him...but
oh well. Chewy it is!!!
