was needed immediately for this family
because when facilities are full, owner
surrenders are usually the first pets put
down.

They are getting big. They are more than twice the size since we adopted them. They
can "sit and stay" very well. Now we are working on "shake". They had their first
adventure in the pool about a week ago. The kids were playing in the pool for the first
time this year. The dogs were outside with them. I was hanging around the pool just to
see what they would do. They were both excited watching the kids play. Willie got too
excited and walked straight into the pool. I pulled him out and he had a look like "What
just happened". He shook off and went straight to the other side of the deck and laid
down. Nelly went over to console him. About 5 minutes later, Nelly did the same thing.
Neither have been in the pool since. Once the water gets warm enough for me, I going
to teach them to use the ladder.
